I decided to do a quote from the Scriptures since it is Sunday.
I chose the scripture I did because it is somewhat the reason I don't go to church anymore.
Not the scripture itself but the people it's talking about are the reason I don't go.
I believe the people it's talking about are most often in leadership positions, and leadership positions in the church have now become such an idolatrous symbol to the members.
It just makes me so sad to see the loss of love and the swelling of pride that is taking place in the church that is supposed to be Jesus Christ's church.
Sins and trials are what perfect us in the end, yet everyone covers them up with shame and a smile.
Everyone thinks in order to be perfect we need to force ourselves and pretend we are.
But obviously, that act is completely damning and spirit losing.
If we just accept ourselves for who we are and love ourselves completely, sins and imperfections included, then we will be able to move past them more easily and honestly onto becoming happier and more able to have the presence of the spirit.
"But when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the spirit of the Lord is grieved;and when it is withdraw, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man."
