Ladies.

Because I grew up in Provo Utah being the daughter of a bishop/stake president and was forced to attend young woman's every week, naturally I was taught to only live for men.
I remember things like "keep yourself chaste so that you will be clean. Worthy young men don't like girls who are 'used' and unclean."
Or "read your scriptures every night so that you will be spiritually prepared to meet a worthy young man and get married."
I found a flaw in these teachings: no matter what you do, you will never please anyone else 100% of the time, but you can please yourself 100% of the time.
I have looked around and realized that my community is not the only one who believes this, not at all.
Basically all of the world's woman are under the impression we are here for men.
I think it is great and awesome to want to look pretty, shave your legs, smell good etc. I just believe that we are so much better than to just live for men and not ourselves.
Comedy is a big place I believe there is a struggle with this problem.
All the girls are afraid of not looking "pretty" so there are hardly any good woman comedians out there.
I very much respect Emma Stone (of course) for being able to be herself, make weird faces and not be concerned about if she still looks pretty.
Even though she still always looks stunning.

There is also the AMAZING snl ladies: Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, and Tina Fey.
(Even though Amy Poehler is divorcing the most amazing man in the world, I still love her)
Tina Fey's book is really awesome by the way, you should check it out.

What is sad to me is Zooey Deschanel.
I know eeeeeveryone loves New Girl, but I just struggled with it.
She just takes the looking stupidly-cute approach to "being funny".
I respect her and the work she has done, I just think there is so much more potential.
I just have so much more respect for the wonderful ladies above who push the boundaries and stand up for woman!

So I what got me in the mood to make this post is the video below.
It made me so happy that these ladies (who are super beautiful) weren't afraid to make crazy faces and not always look completely straight faced-pretty.
