So I know that Thanksgiving was about four months ago, but I didn't have this blog then.
And I want to blog about it!
My parents went out of town to visit my sister Shelley, her husband Josh and their baby Joel for Thanksgiving, leaving Paul, Hannah and I to fend for ourselves.
We are all very health conscious and are vegetarian most of the time (I say most of the time because Paul eats meat occasionally)
So we decided to have a completely vegetarian thanksgiving!
It was probably the very best meal I have ever partaken of.
There was this delicious role which was stuffing with a silly dough stretched around it, this was my personal favorite.
We also had stuffed pumpkins, stuffed mushrooms, gravy, a potato casserole, kale salad, chickpea salad and mashed potatoes.
I don't like potatoes, kale or chickpeas so I basically stuck to the pumpkin stuffing, mushrooms and role but they were all perfect!
If you think that a vegetarian meal can not be savory and delicious, than you are wrong!
This was possibly the most savory and delicious meal I have ever had.
Thanksgiving was at the beginning of my vegetarianism so it was a good push in the right direction.
It was an excellent example of a vegetarian meal done well.
I think when most people think of vegetarian they think of tofu and broccoli.
Tofu though, is not a vegetarians staple food.
Nor is broccoli.
We do use both of these, but not only these two.
There is a huge variety of options for vegetarians as you will see from our meal.
If you have any interest in trying vegetarian dishes here are a few web sites you could check out:
This one is my personal favorite, these bloggers are just living the life I want basically:
This one is a raw web site, but it is also super fantastic!
I haven't looked at this one too much but it also looks great:
And now here are the pictures from Thanksgiving!
